PROJECT COMPLETED!

Wow, what a project!  We can't express our appreciation enough for all of your support.  We do feel badly that this leaked past the 100 day deadline; changes to employment can do that I guess.  But now we have spent the full $100 budget.  And the results?

Participation:  We had 86 different trading partners!  This included traders from around the world, many trading with us multiple times, and many generously offering multiple pins.  Thanks to each of you!  Make sure you check out our Contibutors page to see your name on there.

Page Visits:  We've had over 13,500 visits to our project website so far.  We had visitors from at least 40 different countries!

Transactions:  We had over 100 transactions (trade, buy or sell).  Check out the list at the Pin History page.

Total Pins:  We had over 400 different pins join the collection at one point or another.  At the end of the project we have 197 Mickey pins, including many LEs.  Check out The Collection page as well as the Pin History page.

Thanks again to everyone for their support.  At this time we're no longer making any trades.  We will certainly consider starting a second edition of Show Me The Pins, but we want to ensure we have the determination and circumstances to see it through to the finish.  If we decide to start a second edition we'll honor the results of your voting and make the theme Alice In Wonderland.

Happy trading everybody!

Day 100 (and beyond!)

For everyone who thought the “Show Me The Pins” team had fallen off the planet, you can take a sigh of relief, we’re still alive.  Recent employment changes have really disrupted the last several weeks of our project.  For all of our avid followers, trading partners and donators we’d like to apologize for this significant gap between blog posts.

As you likely know we just recently passed the 100 day mark.  While that’s exciting, it’s also a bit disappointing to us that we didn’t “go out with a bang!”  To be fair to everyone who traded, bought or sold pins with us we’re going to sell all of our non-Mickey pins in one 65-pin auction.  You can take a look and bid at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260773561507&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Once these pins sell we’ll use the remaining funds to buy Mickey pins to complete our collection.  After we’ve spent all of our money we’ll put together a final update of how our project looks completed.  We would LOVE to start a second edition of this project in the near future.  Based on your voting the next theme would be Alice in Wonderland.  However, we want to take a close and hard look at our circumstances prior to starting another 100 days to ensure we’ll be able to keep up and follow through to the end.  If we decide to start a second edition we’ll send out a newsletter to prepare everyone.

Well that’s all for today.  Our next update will likely be once our project is completed.  Stay tuned, and happy trading everybody!

Day 64: Lots of Updates

We’d like to thank everyone for their patience as we didn’t complete our updates last weekend.  Our newsletter should be out this evening for you to enjoy as well.  Here are a few highlights:

We bought 10 pins for $20 from Brea Freeman and she graciously included an Artist Proof Mickey pin!  That’s our first one!  Thanks Brea!

Mike Whartenby was kind enough to send us 6 pins and $15.00 back in return for 4 pins.  That helps us out tremendously.

We now have 66 different contributors!

We have visitors from several new countries, including Nigeria, India, China, Iran and Estonia.  We now have visitors from 37 different countries!

Lastly, we now have eclipsed 10,000 page views!  Thanks for the support.  Be sure to check out all of the updated content.  Happy trading everybody!

Day 57: A Crazy Weekend

Hi everybody, it’s the weekend again and typically that means we do our weekly page updates and send out our newsletter.  We hate to disappoint you, but we have an absolutely crazy weekend today and tomorrow.  As a result, we will not have time to perform these updates.  I can tell you that we have mailed out all pins that we’ve traded over the past week and that we have purchased some more traders that should be coming in the mail this coming week.  We also had visitors from two new countries.

If we get the time to make the updates we’ll let you know.  Otherwise we’ll have a 2-week update next weekend.  Let’s keep this thing going strong to the end!  Only 43 days left!  Happy trading everybody!

Transactions have been slowing down over the last week or so.  If you want to buy, sell or trade please feel free to contact us via e-mail or through PinPics trade offers.  Let's finish the 2nd half of this project strong!  Happy trading everybody!

Day 50: Half-way there! And plenty of updates…

Time has certainly flown by as we’ve reached the half-way point of our 100 day project.  We’ve had a lot of activity this week and the “Pin History”, “The Collection” and “Contributors” pages have been updated accordingly.  Be sure to check them out!  We should have the newsletter sent out in another hour or so.

We have visitors from three new countries this week!  We want to welcome our friends from Ukraine, Hungary, and Belize!  We now have visitors from 30 different countries, which is truly exciting.  Let’s hope our second half of the project is even more eventful than the first.  Happy trading everybody!
